A number of members of Community Councils from throughout the city of Aberdeen attended the ‘Civic Leadership’ event in January, 2018.

This event had the purpose of ‘Coming together to share ideas and explore how co-operation and partnership working can be strengthened across communities, local government and the City’s other institutions’.

There were many important issues raised on the day, including recommendations to the City Council, other public services and even Government proposals.

There was also a number of priorities where Community Councils and other community groups have said they would like to make progress on and take forward.

A ‘Summary Report‘ has been provided by community members who facilitated the event, which can be accessed at this link.

There are scheduled to be future events and open days, and it will be important for Community Councils to continue to be represented and bring forward the views and priorities of their communities.

The Community Council Forum will also be in contact with the group to ensure that these connections with communities remains a priority throughout.
